An exercise in patience

Sometimes in India the electricity goes off. It’s occasional, sporadic and unpredictable. Like today.

I have a bunch of tasks that can only be performed online. I can’t access any of the information I need and I can’t upload the content I’ve created. It’s frustrating.

My working week is optimised to afford the maximum quality time for lifestyle activities; beach football, socialising and training; pottering, philosophising, pondering; reading, writing and sitting still doing nothing.

When the window for work is unexpectedly closed, it’s a chance to remember to be flexible, humble and patient. Even the most well organised plan needs a little slack. So this morning, with no internet connection and no power supply, it’s time for a leisurely breakfast, the biggest cup of tea imaginable and a book in the hammock.
