In the 1980’s politics was dominated by Thatcherism. Free market liberalism, deregulation and privatisation steamrollered over post-war consensus to protect workers rights, provide a welfare state and to invest in nationalised industry to support the domestic economy.
Forty years on and we’re seeing the fall out of those radical changes. The global economy is in tatters, governments have introduced totalitarian restrictions across countries and wealth inequality is beyond sickening.
So long as we can have a new car, a bigger house and satellite TV it’s worth it, right?
