I read a bunch of daily emails. I get a lot of spam too. If I don’t keep on top of them, I become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information in my inbox.
A week off and I’m swamped. It happens sporadically that my attention drifts elsewhere. I go off into nature or spend more time socialising than in front of a laptop.
The best way to stay on top of things is to read each day the stuff that matters and delete the junk as I go. This reinforces a notion I’ve held for a while – that a little effort each day adds up to a lot over time. It’s the same with creative work or a mindfulness practice.
Whatever new habit you’re learning to cultivate – stick with it. It’s the repetition that matters. Every day counts.
