How MDMA is being used to treat PTSD

The War on Drugs has been a long running US led policy initiative designed to protect the interests of Big Pharma. Four decades since launch and the project has yet to make good on claims to improve social order and improve public health.

One unforeseen consequence of this failing policy has been that research into prohibited substances has been limited to a few anecdotal studies that lacked proper funding and scale. Recent attempts to bring these game changing chemicals into the mainstream are still in progress but provisional results indicate that there is huge potential.

The Economist has published a seven minute video to highlight the findings of how MDMA is being used to treat PTSD. It’s a compelling story of a veteran on the edge. Recommended viewing for anyone that has an interest in the possibilities of psychedelics, psychotropic substances and alternative therapies in the treatment of mental health, psychosis and trauma.
