The Fourth Industrial Revolution

Great change is upon humanity. I’ve heard the phrase, ‘The Fourth Industrial Revolution’ bandied around for some months now. I wanted to dig a little deeper to understand the direction of travel that the current institutions of power and influence have in mind.

I’m beginning my next phase of research. I plan to educate myself about the possibilities for the future. My first reference to share with you is the World Economic Forum website and the plans under the section ‘The Fourth Economic Revolution‘. From here you can make your own exploration of what the future may hold for humanity.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution represents a fundamental change in the way we live, work, and relate to one another. It is a new chapter in human development, enabled by technology advances that are commensurate with those of the first, second and third industrial revolutions, and which are merging the physical, digital, and biological worlds in ways that create both promise and peril. The speed, breadth, and depth of this revolution is forcing us to rethink how countries should develop, how organizations create value, and even what it means to be human. Now, as the world grapples with COVID-19, there is an opportunity to further harness the power of the revolution in ways that create a more inclusive, human-centred global economy.

The aim of this series is to help myself and others to understand what the current global ideology is and how to navigate it. I share this information as fact and without bias. It is simply a signpost to further reading.
