The small things

I started some new exercises today. I’m working on core strength and upper body. There’s a glitch in my right shoulder, a twitch that activates under weight.

My PT has given me a set of movements to do to strengthen the muscle rotation. It’s a small range of movement but effective. I’m amazed by the results.

This little episode reminded me of the incremental gains I make by applying sustained effort on the little details. The accumulation of seemingly insignificant acts build to create an unstoppable momentum.

Like a short daily blog post feeds into the larger whole that becomes a body of work. Or a long journey that begins with a single step. It’s the small things that count.
