Karma yoga is a devotional practice that connects us with our existence. In the mundanity of household chores such as sweeping the floor we take personal responsibility for ourselves. We make our own bed. We wash dishes. We take out the trash.
It is through these actions that we develop our sense of humility. The daily need of maintaining our selves and our homes is a primordial lesson in what it is to be human. With focus on the simplicity of the task at hand we forget ourselves. We lose our minds.
It’s the original yoga. It’s the first step on the path. When we bring our awareness to this practice we develop our spiritual being.
